Our interim report has been written for the many students and teachers
busy running Classroom Assembly programs in their schools. It explains
what happened at the Students' Assembly Conference and should help to
set the stage for their own deliberations. Of course, if you're not a
student or teacher, we hope you'll be interested to read about the results
of our conference and the first stage of the Students' Assembly program.

For all of us attending the Students' Assembly conference, Todd Ward's
illustrations were priceless. Over the course of five days, Todd, a member
of the Students Commission team, kept track of what every participant
had to say. Using illustrations that ran along every wall of our conference
room, Todd wore out dozens of markers as he wrestled with finding the
right way to draw each electoral system and everyone' s perspective. Lose
track of things for a minute, look up, and Todd was hard at work. He got
it all down. He's the guy and this is a sample of the work that made us
all think and smile.
